In Celtic folklore, certain trees were considered sacred and believed to possess spiritual and mystical qualities. The Celts believed that trees were powerful beings that bridged the gap between the earthly and spiritual realms.
Starting with a 55 gallon steel drum, the metal is cleaned, sanded and pounded flat and the design is cut out by hand using a hammer and chisel.
Measuring an impressive 23 inch diameter this piece is finished with a clear coat varnish to insure that it will look fantastic either indoors or outdoors. For outdoor use it is recommended to spray the sculpture yearly with a clear rust protector to maintain the original look.
Color varies from dark silver to brown rustic tones depending on the steel drum used.
